This fine example is in Exc++ condition. The paint is original and Exc +. Complete with original liner in Exc+ condition and chin strap. A few of the small metal clips are missing. The emblem on the front of the skull was adopted on the 12 th of January 1937, replacing the earlier insignia. This âeoenewâe badge replaced the earlier Air Force insignia. This helmet was in use for a very short time. On May 10, 1940 the âeoeSitzkriegâe turned into âeoeBlitzkriegâe. The German terms for surrender were accepted by Marshal Petén on June 22, 1940. The war was over for the French. Te complex liner is in excellent + condition. Only a few of the small metal clips are missing. Paint, and condition of helmet is excellent. Leather chin strap is excellent. Scarce variation. Refer to p.77 & 78 of Combat Helmets of the World by Paolo Margette . A terrific example of an early war scarce Air Force Combat-Adrian helmet.
