On a recent trip to France, we discovered a large folio of architectural drawings, mostly datable ca. 1900. Most of the drawings are designs for classical types of buildings. Some of the sheets do show 20th century designs for modernistic architecture.All drawings do find their origin in the Lille School for Architecture (North France).Apart from the architectural aspect, we think most of the drawings are very decorative.The drawing for sale, executed in pen, ink and grey wash on rather thick ca. 1900 paper, depicts a part of a building in French style. The entrance is decorated with classic sculptures and elements.Authorship : the drawing is from the French school (made by a French architect).Period : ca. 1900.Size : 16,3x29,7cm.Condition : good.
