This is an unusual and striking tube radio made by Sonora (SNR), model Excelsior 52, made in Puteaux/Paris France. A similar model was produced or copied in the USSA named Zvezda-54 (Red Star). Especially unusual is this one comes with a matching antenna that is made to look like a picture frame. It has the original French picture or scene and the "frame" matches the radio's finish exactly. This is a large and heavy set measuring approx. 22"X15". Condition is overall very nice with the exception that the horizontal sliding bar has broken at the right side (see photo), and the "2" is missing from the nameplate on the front bottom. It may be possible to repair the slide bar. The antenna is also in good shape for its age but the back is somewhat loose. Overall this set displays very nice and really makes a statement when displayed. Would work well with a catalin radio collection or other vintage or even Art deco radios. No reserve auction! Final bid price plus $45.00 shipping (its really heavy!). Insurance extra, if needed please inquire. Money orders or personal check (must Clear). International bidders welcome but must pay actual shipping costs (to be determined by location). Questions happily answered. Thank you for your interest.
