DescriptionHere for your consideration is a Original Print of a Wood Engraving by Fritz Eichenberg. This was issued as a gift from The Limited Editions Club (Book) and I have letter that accompanied print (to be included) . Quoted from the paper: Struck by the macabre whimsicality of the poems of Francois Villon, Eichenbert could not resist making this brilliant rendition of their spirit. After engraving the wood block the artist supervised the printing at the Penmaen Press in Lincoln Massachusetts. Just two thousand were pulled, there are numbered and individually signed by Fritz Eichenberg. Thus each is guaranteed to be an authentic original print (not a reproduction). This print is numbered 286. The envelope that the letter came in is postmarked 1980. The actual print size is about 6.65 x 4 inches. The paper is about 10.5 x 6.5 inches. There are black smudges on bottom on paper not interfering with print.
