On offer is a very Rare Plastic / Tenite model Jeep made byFrog under the Penguin Brand Name. FROG issued thefollowing range of plastic vehicles between 1947-1950 under the Penguin brand name: -Maserati Racing Car -Riley 1,5 litre -Armstrong Siddeley "Hurricane" -Jowett "Javelin" -Ford V8 "Tudor" -Jeep. All, except the Jeep, were powered by a rubber band. In the period of 1947-1950 6 model cars were available under the marketing name of Penguin. Unlike the model planes the cars were made of tenite, which is a better quality cellulose acetate and solved the warping problems. I really do not know, but any information thoughts etc. would be very welcome. It is very good order for its age but there are manufacturing defects, some small splits here and there, the front axle is moulded slightly out of square to the front and it is certainly NOT a very crisp moulding. There is some rust to the axles but the wheels do turn BUT are very tight especially the front. The numbers on the front bonnet are rubbed in places. It has “PENGUIN the FROG LOGO and MADE IN ENGLAND” on the base.It measures approx 3 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide and is 1 5/8 inches tall. The Box (which read more
