GERMAN FAIR FROMMELLES FOUD GERMAN 6TH BAVARIAN RESERVE DIVISION Very, very rare photo taken in Fromelles from a few Australian taken prisoner, look at the soldier with the 5th division path and the slouch hat. On a german fair l foud a small photo album and four photosheets, see the foud photo for example. l sell the photosheets separately. l brought these photo`s home and did research. The photo album and photosheets belonged to the same german soldier who served with Kgl. Bayeriches reserve-infanterie regiment. The photo`s appear to be Australians of the 5th division taken prisoner l belief the 21st bayern regiment. Two photo`s are written at the back by the same german soldier and dated 15 and 16 of august 1916. He told in his card about the fighting with the Australians, very, very rare. The division entered the war on 30 October 1914, when it entered the First Battle of Ypres , part of the so-called Race to the Sea . The division remained in Flanders thereafter, and fought in numerous actions, including the Battle of Fromelles in July 1916 and the latter phases of the Battle of the Somme in October 1916.
