There are multiple versions of this prop used throughout the third film in the Back to the Future trilogy. Photographs as props were indeed used a lot throughout all the films.Discovering a suitable reference for the image itself though was not the most difficult task. We were fortunate in this area and with a little digital image magic we have created a beautifully crips and correctly toned image. Deciding to reproduce the final version of this hand prop, ( Doc’s farewell gift to Marty ) in its pristine condition was made difficult due to the fact that a match for the frame could not be found. So again we would be up to the challenge of creating it from scratch. Having the photograph already made sizing the frames components a lot easier though. We made our frame from which we hand mitred, joined and stained. The corner details we sculpted from scratch and these were then moulded and cast in resin then hand detailed. The picture was then mounted using a beige matte board and framing glass. Copying Docs handwriting and inscription finished off the piece. It reads: “ to Marty Partners in time September 5, 1885 “. Just for convenience we also included mounting wire on the rear of the frame. Together certificate is issued our laboratory. You can visit our website at address Payment with Paypal
