GAO-GUENIE Chondrite H5 This auction is for an 18.3 gram specimen collected from the Gao-Guenie strewnfield and measures approximately 24mm x 22mm x 14mm. A trio of detonations were heard as far away as 60 miles from the impact area on March 5, 1960 and the rain of stones is said to have smashed numerous chicken coops no doubt riling up the local poultry. This stone has a complex polyhedric shape and is covered with a rich dark fusion crust except for the large cleanly fractured base which under a magnifier gives an excellent three dimensional view of chondrules bulging from its surface. The previous collector/dealer (whose ID card will be included with my own) has affixed a small collection label to one face which is visible in one of the photos. The 1 cm. scale cube in the photos is not included in this sale. Paypal only will be accepted for payment and should be made within three days of the end of auction. We combine shipping.
