( 1855 - 1936 ) A superb and well provenanced oil of a child shrimping on the beach - one of Hutchisons most desirable scenes. The work is in lovely condition and very very charming. From a collection of work by the artist - we have two more for sale in our gallery This painting came from James Strang of Glasgow and was acquired by him from a collection of the artists work in Glasgow whence it originally came from Aitken Dott of Edinburgh. From 1878 he exhibited frequently; he was elected to the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1895, became an Associate of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1901 and a full member in 1911.
