You are bidding on an original Civil War period CDV of Gen. Henry W. Benham. CDV is in great shape. Also a dated July 6 1863, signed letter by General Henry W. Benham. Commander of Eng. Brigade of Army of the Potomoc.. Letter is in good shape,shows well. Has many folds, but all in tact. Has age spots and small loss of paper on second page. Letter is written to his wife Libby (Elizabeth} concerning he has received orders to take pontoon bridges to Harpers Ferry, needed by General Meade. He advises her not to come to visit until his plans are finalized. Letter is signed Henry with another word I can't read. There are two similar letters on War Between the States website, where hadwriting is the same. All guaranteed to be original or money refunded minus shipping.
