"There Is No Place Like Home--Victorian Punch Motto Sampler--with a WOW Frame I love the nostalgia of these punch motto samplers. And this one, though quite stained (please take a look at all the pictures) has a particularly feminine feel with the pink writing and ivy embroidery. Also unique to this piece are the letters in the left- and right-hand corners. On the left, there are the letters "LD" and on the right are the letters "IED." I'm not sure what these letters mean, as they are not part of the motto. Perhaps they are a signature of the person who spent painstaking hours creating the piece. Maybe they're a word that I'm not aware of...you be the judge.Now, let's talk about the frame. It's a sturdy and beautiful piece, which seems to be done in the Eastlake style. Take a look at the back: You can see the way the frame is built up with layers of framing. It's quite a beautiful piece, with a beautiful aged patina. There is minimal chipping. The frame's inside measurements (the glass) are approximately 19 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches. The exterior measurements of the frame are approximately 24 x 12 3/8 inches.I've described this item to the best of my ability. If you'd like to see more pics, please email me.
