Scots Guards Piper's No. 1 Dress Tunic British Ministry of Defense Military Surplus Label Sizing as folllows: Height 6' 2" Neck to Waist 19 1/2" Sleeve 32 5/8" Chest 49 1/4" Waist 49" Collar 17 1/2" This doublet is authentic British military surplus and was manufactured under contract to the Ministry of Defense. It is made from a substantial midnight blue wool serge or melton cloth material. As seen in the photos, the skirt darts, shoulder shells collar and epaulettes are accentuated with white piping. The shoulder shells (not removeable) are crenellated, the sleeves terminate in gauntlet style cuffs. The three rows of three buttons each indicate the Scots Guards is the third household regiment of foot. The left epaulette is longer than the right to accommodate the tartan sash. The buttons are Staybrite and display the Scots Guards arms. The garment is in superb condition, free of staining, mothing, smoke, tears or repairs. This doublet design is worn only by the pipers of the Scots Guards, together with the a kilt of Royal Stewart tartan. The rather substantial sizing is very rare.
