Fresh out of the woodwork U.S. Rear Seam Helmet used during the war not one of those many that never saw the front or were saved for use in Korea, it has Khaki chin straps and Brass hardware which they stopped making in Dec. 1943 so this helmet is most likely a first version rear seam which started production in Oct. 1943, it is a good genuine aged shell from field/combat use and still has a lot of cork that can be seen, t is a dent just off the crown toward the back (see photo) but t are no cracks, the liner is a Westinghouse with a piece of webbing broke at the front and t are some remnants of white paint on it maybe from winter 44-45, t are 2 photos that came with the helmet and the gentleman didn't know too much about his fathers service and he had passed away years ago, the one photo with the soldier holding a M-1 Garand and a folding shovel hanging off his belt is marked on the back "one of my friends", I can see no patch which would give a clue to w it is and the other with one American sitting on a flatbed but I don't know if those are a mix of British and French troops around him?, any questions please contact me.
