Welcome to my auction for this antique Aboriginal Boomerang. I do actually have two Boomerangs listed, do take a look at the other one too.I believe this to be a genuine hunting weapon, and was told that one was for killing, and one for stunning prey but I don't know which one is which. I have had these for about 50 years and before that they belonged to an elderly lady who was widely travelled. They are made from hardwood, of what type I am unsure but they are VERY hard!This one measures approx. 28.5" end to end, or 27" if you go straight across.There are some rudimentary carved lines on the wood, which you can make out in the photos. Sadly, there is a chip out of one end of the Boomerang as can also be seen in the pictures.Any questions, please do ask.Thanks for looking.
