Lot of Five Authentic Japanese Glass Ball Fishing Net Floats These beautiful glass floats were given to me about twelve years ago by a friend who spent the summer on a fishing boat in Alaska . (He collected quite a few glass floats and bottles to bring home to family and friends). This lot includes all five floats! They all have lots of air bubbles in the glass and most of them are âe~frostedâe(tm) (happens when they are tossed around in sand, etc.) with the outlines of the nets they were once wrapped in still visible!! Floats 1-3: These floats are 3.5âe in diameter and weigh between 4 and 5 ounces each. They are dark green in color with lighter areas of frosting. They are marked I, III, and + (Kanji for ten). They each have lines or âeoeseamsâe on them from the molding process used to make them. One has three small imperfections w the glass might have bubbled and resettled when being made, leaving a rougher surface. Floats 4-5: These floats are 3.5âe in diameter and weigh about 6 ounces each. They are very pale green (almost clear) with more frosting than the others and very visible net outlines. They also have significantly more air bubbles than the other floats. They do not have any lines or seams, and while one is circular the other is a little lopsided and misshapen.
