The frame is made of a hard and weighty wood. It both looks and feels expensive. The piece measures 14 1/2 by 12 1/2 inches and is 7/8 inch deep. The Gershwin photogravure print shows at approximately 7 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. The back of the frame bears the Lot number 2286 on their auctioneer tag which matches the permanent metal Stardust Hotel and Casino tag on the frame. Unquestionable provenance as I personally purchased the item at the Stardust November of 2006. This art décor came directly off the wall of William B's where I was told it had been hanging since the initial opening of that famous steakhouse. I got a little carried away with this listing but this was one of my favorite Las Vegas hotels for many years. When the sad news came that they would implode the Stardust (although the hotel and casino was turning a nice profit) I made sure to show up at the Great American Group Auction at the Stardust and pick up a few mementos. I was particularly struck by the wall and décor art throughout the casino and wound up buying expensive looking wall hangings and some oils on canvas. The beautiful piece I am offering was a wall hanging at William B's Steakhouse (William Boyd, was the Stardust owner) that hung in one of their popular dining rooms.
