This commemorative medal shows on the obverse the usual left facing profile of King George V with that of Queen Mary behind. Wording around the edge reads 'KING GEORGE & QUEENMARY REIGNED 25 YEARS'. On the reverse below centre are the words 'ROYAL TOWN OF SUTTON COLDFIELD' with the town's own coat of arms above. Around the edge reads 'THE SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS1935 MAYOR ARTHUR TERRY'.The medal is suspended from a red, white and blue ribbon, which is itself attached to a bar-clip which has GVR at centre with three double leaves to either side.I imagine that this medal may perhaps have been presented to all school children in The Royal Town at the time of the Silver Jubilee but I don't actually know this. This item is in good condition. I imagine the medal to be cupro-nickel and it is a bit dirty with age (I have not attempted to clean it in any way for fear of causing damage) - the reverse is very clear as is the obverse although the latter seems to my admittedly un-expert eye to be rubbed very slightly on the King's cheek-bone. The clip could possibly be silver but I cannot vouch for this as I can find no hall-mark.
