This is a George Wostenholm & Son Pipe Razor black handle straight shaving razor in original leather case. The razor measures approximately 6 1/2 inches in length and 7/8 inch wide (closed). The blade is 3 inches in length. The razor has stamped on the blade shaft "(a tavern pipe trademark)" on one side and nothing on the other side. The blade has light stamped on it "(tavern pipe trademark) / Original and Only Genuine Pipe Razor / Manufactured Solely By / Geo. Wostenholm & Son / Mark Granted A.D. 1694". The razor is in very good condition with light rust marks and tarnish marks and showing usage. The leather case is in very good condition showing wear. NOTE: I am not sure of the age of the razor, but from research I believe it is from the 1800's. A very nice addition to your razor or shaving collection.
