This is what we believe to be an English, wrythened, dwarf ale glass dating from the late 18th century, c1780. The glass is in good condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to both the rim of the bowl and to the rim of the foot consistent with 200+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot. The glass has a funnel bowl measuring 5.7 cm (2.3 inches) in diameter at the rim. The glass has wrythening from the bottom of the stem to the top of the bowl. The bowl sits on a small, wrythened cushion knop, a short piece of plain stem, and a snall, basal cushion knop. The stem leads to a shallow, conical foot which measures 6.6 cm (2.6 inches) in diameter. The glass itself is 13 cm (5.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is significant water clouding to the inside of the bowl and there is an unburst bubble and other inclusions in the bowl. It is made from English lead metal. Quote stock number: 2479
