This is a unique large (1 liter) Oktoberfest beer mug from the Wiesbaden Germany U.S. Air Force base officers' club.The mug is gray stoneware with a glazed surface and cobalt blue graphics. The graphic says "General von Steuben Officers' Club Oktoberfest". The bottom is marked "Wiesbaden Germany". It is imprinted "1 L" with line mark by the top by the handle. It stands 7.5" tall, is 4" in diameter and measures about 6" wide including the handle.I do not know how old it is, but my mother who is German bought it at a garage sale about 10 years ago. The mug is in good condition with no chips or cracks.As a point of historical information, Wiesbaden Germany is the location of the U.S. Air Force base that was established in 1945 and is famous for being the hub which supported the Berlin airlift. General von Steuben was the Prussian Revolutionary War hero and General under George Washington in 1776.Please see my other auctions for another large German Oktoberfest glass beer mug.
