This porcelain figure comes from the estate of a retired US military officer who lived in Europe after WWII. The estate included many items from Germany and Italy. I don't know for sure w this piece originated but I would guess Germany or Austria. T were two of these in the estate. Both of them have damage and/or repairs. I'll be listing the second one in the next couple of days. This Lipizzan horse measures about 11 1/8" tall. The base is about 7 1/4" by 3 1/2". As you can see, the left front leg is broken off. I believe it has been reglued at some time in the past. The left front leg, both lower back legs, and a portion of the tail have a white overcoat that looks like poor touching up of damage and/or repairs. I scraped on some of the white with a fingernail and the top layer came off revealing bare pottery beneath (back left leg outside). I don't see any sign of damage or repair to the rider, reins, stirrups or ears (which is surprising). This piece is being sold "as is". The leg could be reglued and it would display nicely from a distance, or it could be restored professionally to a highly collectible status. Please feel free to email with any questions prior to bidding. I try to give any information I have about the listings, and to tell you whether the information is fact or opinion. I have a "full refund option" (see returns read more
