Very nice condition German World War II bayonet by W.K.C.! Overall length is approximately 15 ¼ inches; the blade measures approximately 9 ¾ inches. Bayonet bears multiple hallmarks including "WA 253"; please see photos.The blade and matching scabbard are serialized "6305/b" on one side of the ricasso and "W.K.C." on the other. The spine of the blade is marked "39". Over 30% of the original blue remains on this blade, especially in the 6 ¾ inch long fuller. The tip remains sharp; virtually no rust but moderate scratch marks on both sides and partly along the spine. Please see photos.The wooden grips appear as period replacements and are tightly fit to the blade showing a great mellow light brown patina with three nicks on the left side, and is otherwise in very good condition. The back plate of the grip is a little warped so the grips alignment is a bit off. The latching button is present, hallmarked "WA253" and remains functional.No scabbard remains with this great K98 bayonet however.
