This vintage antique German stein is done in the demanding style of Mettlach with finely executed relief hand painted decoration. Features a tree branch handle with animals and warriors celebrating a successful conquest. The letters SPQR are on the shield. There is an inscription that must tell a grand tale. This 1/2 litre stein measures 8-1/4" to the top of the lid and the vessel sets 5-3/4" tall with a 3-3/4" wide body and the opening and the base are each 3" across.
