Offered in this listing is a truly unique and rare example of the fine art of marquetry. This highly-detailed framed hunting scene measures 12 1/2'" x 16 ¾". It is in very good condition; t are no scratches or damage that I can see and none of the wood is loose or peeling. It features a dog and an ex-deer against a wooded background scene. The level or craftsmanship is superb T is a German label on the back; I will try to copy what it says...you will have to do your own translation. I would date this item from between the first and second world wars. Also on the back, is a label from Sevin's Fine Arts in Buffalo , NY , who I would assume is the person who framed the picture. The dark tone of the solid wood frame is a perfect compliment to the lively multi-toned hunting scene. The picture is ready to hang by the wire attached to the back. This piece is truly a work of art...the level of patience of the artist is awe inspiring. The survival of this picture is a testament to its greatness.
