In this auction we are offering a very nice medal group which belonged to an officer who was a German Military advisor or attache to the Japananese government prior to WWI. The group is accompanied with the standard field spange which matches the bar. The bar consist of an Iron Cross 2 nd class 1914, Mecklenburg-Schwerin Miliarveridenstkreuz 2 nd class 1914, Braunschweig Miliarverdienstkreuz 2 nd class 1914-1918, Kolonial-Denkmunze 1912, and the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun 7 th class. There are numerous examples in European auctions of Japanese medals on WWI German Groups with the lower classes, 4 th class and below, of the Rising Sun and Sacred Treasure being the most common awarded. The group is in excellent clean condition with only minor wear and tarnish to the medals and backing materials. In consideration of the owners status and the medals involved this group was most likely worn by an officer with the rank of captain trough Col.. This bar has been in my private collection since the mid-1970’s when it was purchased while I was stationed in Germany. This group, in this condition, is highly desirable and infrequently available on American market. Low reserve. Do not miss the opportunity to own this excellent example of German WWI military insignia. BIDDER REQUIREMENTS AND PAYMENT/SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS Payment is due read more
