German Heavy Duty Trench Shovel With Real Leather Holster/Sheath Used by the German Military I understand that this style of Trench Shovel is from around the 60’s Dates vary from 1953 to 1964 I am so very impressed with the operation of this shovel, it is easy and quick to use (much more so than the U.S. Trench Shovel with its screw style lock) Easily Locks Rigidly into a solid unit Indexing Positively into Five Positions: Shovel can be straight for digging, 90 degrees for use as a hoe, with shovel at 90 degrees the pick can be also be set to 90 deg. or pick alone can be straight or at 90 degrees. Hard Wood Handle Measures about 17.5" Closed Or 25" Open. I recommend this tool for the Trunk of your car or for camping or as a collectable The shovel you get may not exactly match picture as I have several (gave them for Christmas presents) but they are all in about the same condition
