This is a German Saxon Bayonet Model 1898. It is mounted with a quillback blade that measures 20 5/8 inches in length and is well marked by "SIMSON & CO SHUL" on one side of the ricasso as well as dated "05" on the spine. The blade remains in very nice condition with only some minor surface staining near the tip. The wooden grips are also very nice in condition. The metal fitted leather scabbard has lost the base fitting, nevertheless, does wear a matching unit marking on the throat fitting to the Bayonet. Overall the Bayonet measures 25 7/8 inches in length. T is no reserve. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this auction) Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
