This lovely German Shepard is a rare Goebel figurine...due to its coloring. and marks engraved (number...artist - Krobek...etc.). (A reference to that is located on a site called ... "dogbreedinfo" ... where a private collection of the site creator was included).The unique stand was made here in the United States! It is really nice....and well made!!!The figurine measures 9" high x 12" long x 3 1/4" wide. The stand measures 8" high x 14" long x 7 1/8" wide. The entire piece is 17" tall. The figurine is glued to the top and is not detachable.The saying..."A Tribute To The Dog" (on the brass plate)...is custom made and one of a kind. The saying is from a speech made by a lawyer [George Graham Vest ...( who later became a US Senator...and famous orator of his time)] .. defending his client, whose dog was killed cruelly by another individual. A link to that speech..just google..."historyplace....famous speeches" and you'll find this one...among many other historic great ones over time! This is really unique...there is no other like it available anywhere! This is a special one...very unique!
