NICE ! This is a NICOLAUS AMATUS 4/4 size VIOLIN made from 1890 - 1910 in BEAUTIFUL CONDITION ! The violin features solid spruce top , figured maple sides , book matched figured maple back , figured maple neck with " scrolled " headstock , ebony board , tail peice & chin rest . all FANTASTIC LOOKING with golden brown nitro laquer finish , with no cracks or repairs , t are some edge wears and sliver / chip on the headstock, but it is smooth to the touch. THIS IS A GREAT FEELING FINE VIOLIN , and looks as good as it feels. Violin has original coffin case with antique latches , solid but missing the handel ,good neck joint and angel , never reset ,, 100% original but will need a bridge , AND SOUND POST IS LOOSE . not bad at all for being 100 + years old , the label reads " NICOLAUS AMATUS FACIET IN CREMONA 1675 " these woods are all solid and made by hand or at least hands on , i was told that this is either FRANCE or GERMAN , and that it was not built in 1675 but around 1900s , all things considered this is a speakable instrument , the quality is fantastic and the instrument is BEAUTIFUL ! winner will be thrilled with quality , condition and authenticity , setting the post is " no big deal " so BID TO WIN !!!
