Sheet metal battery box - this would supply power to the reticule illumination lamp mounted on the weapons optic (such has MG Zieleinrichtung ‘MG Z 34 for example) via a connecting cable. Battery box has 85% original Dark Grey paint finish on the outer and 95% on all interior surfaces. The outside lid surface is marked ‘SA’ in an outlined square. There are no other manufacturer codes or waffenamt stamping on any other external or internal surfaces. Personal appraisal: - Condition II
