On offer is a sterling silver signet ring, which belonged to the Swedish corps of the German Wiking division from the World War II period. The ring is made of German silver. The enameled centerpiece is the Swedish flag and Iron Cross. The ring is US size 12 (21,2 mm.) made of sterling silver and glass enamel technique not used nowadays due to the complex process now replaced by plastic enamel. Initially established in May 1940 as Division (motorisierte) Germania , the title was altered only days later to Division (motorisierte) Wiking, being formed around a core of personnel fron the Germania Regiment. To this core was added the two existing Germanic volunteer regiments Nordland and Westland . The first truly international division it numbered Germans (the majority), Dutch, Danes, Norwegians, Finns, Walloons, and Flemings among its personnel, together with a smattering of Volkdeutsche from the Balkans. The division first went into action in the southern sector of the Eastern Front, as far as possible from their countrymen fighting in the volunteer legions around Leningrad .
