***Golden Lepidolite*** ((( Giant Gemmy Crystal Cluster ))) ~~ With Clear Barite Crystals ~~ Jequitinhonha Valley - Itinga "Minas Gerais- Brazil " 14" x 9-1/2 " wide x 7-1/2" inches tall 33 Lbs - 15000 Grams The lithium bearing pegamites of the Jaquitinhonha Valley near Itinga in Minas Gerias Brazil produced these gorgeous golden lepidolite crystals. Lepidolite is part of the mica group of minerals which generally form columns of flat hexagonal or tabular booked crystals. These gorgeous golden lepidolite crystals are stacked in tight groups which at first glance look somewhat botryoidal like roundish clumps that appear to form more or less spherical clusters but upon close observation the flat edges of the individual crystals are apparent. Lepidolite is most familiar in purple, lavender or silver shades and I'm not sure exactly what causes the bright yellow to deep golden color of these crystals but they sure are distinctive and very pretty. This gorgeous cluster is comprised of a solid mass of lepidolite mica with a few random barite crystals interspersed and has no matrix.
