Offered here is a very rare box end from the Giant Powder Company, San Francisco, California. End is from a fifty pound box of dynamite. The Giant Powder Company merged with the Safety Nitro Powder Company in 1892 to become the Giant Powder Company, Consolidated. Box end is likely from the 1880's, based on the collection it was originally acquired from. Measures 11.50 x 6.75, in overall very good to fine condition. This type of design from Giant is commonly reffered to as a Mustache box end. Shows a few dents and dings from its underground life, very good stencil. These are only coming out of private collections these days, as collecting in underground mines becomes a thing of the past. Thanks for looking!
