Red Beryls from the Violet Claims in the Utah's Wah Wah Mts. are among the world's rarest and most spectacular gemstones. It has been said that only 60 pounds of rough has ever been cut into gems, throughout the 100 year existence. In a world w literally tons and tons of diamonds are discovered each and every year, the rarity of these single-source gems is only matched by their beauty. Weight: 3.1 grams Size: 27 mm x 20 mm x 11 mm **The dime in the photo is not included in this auction** The journeys across this specimen are 13, 14 and 11.5 mm, which is the size of your fingernail. It's only a few mms thick, but it certainly does make a topside statement. If somehow one could mount this as is into gold for a pendant, it would be quite imposing, needless to say. One of the largest cross-sections of red beryl I've ever seen, and the rhyolite is oh so white. Good luck, and no reserve.
