Up for auction is my cherry red 1974 ES 345 TDSV, serial #430588. I picked this up at an estate sale a couple of months ago. I have cleaned up all of the parts and brought the finish back up to its original high gloss. If you look at the photos, the finish looks almost wet! The 2011 Vintage Guitar Price Guide rates a 1974 Es 345 at $2,800-$3,600. I will start the bidding at just $1,995. This guitar comes with all of the original pieces (not sure about the bridge) finished in the original gold. The gold finish is gently wearing off of the pickups and is mostly worn off of the trapeze tailpiece. It was obviously played and loved a lot by the last owner. The pickups have the pat. # 2,737,842 on the back and appear to be non-tampered with on the back sides. The tuners are Gibson Delux and look appropriate for this vintage. There is a neck volute (very authentic for the early 70's) which has a repaired crack. Please look at the photo and you will see the repair. I have had a guitar tech look at this and tell me that the repair looks good and strong. He told me that a luthier can sand off some of the paint around the crack, mix it with glue and fill the crack if you want to make this look new again.
