Gibson Les Paul SG Standard, 1962 -63 This Guitar features a cherry finish, nickel hardware, a large profile neck, 1 and 11/16 inch nut width, two PAT humbucking pickups, original hardware all the way, like sideways tremelo, original tuners etc. bonnet knobs, 63 dated pots, and a 2.9kg weight. The guitar has some minor finish checking and is overall in really excellent original condition with the exeption of a professionally repaired repaired -partial- neck crack. Repair is rock-solid. It does not appear to be very deep as it does not go through to the front of the headstock. it also shows the usual neck reset. The neck has a great feel. It has a medium rounded profile. The frets are original and display little wear between 2nd and 7nd fret. The original sideway tremolo is in excellent condition. Guitar comes with the original black yellow lined hardshell case A Bit of History: In 1960 to 1963 gibson changed the body of the gibson les paul standard to an SG type body with 2 symetrical pointed horns (cutaways) , they had thinner necks and were called the gibson SG les paul standard models .
