Vintage Gibson Mini "PAF" Humbucker w/ Patent No. Sticker. Good working vintage Gibson mini-humbucker. Measures 7.33 ohms.I originally assumed this pickup came from a Les Paul Deluxe, but after doing some research I'm not sure, Here's what I found:(Taken from Les Paul Forum) The PAF Mini Humbucker was used exclusively on Epiphone guitars until 1969 when with the moving of Epiphone production to Japan, (now-) Norlin found itself with a large quantity of the pickups and no Epiphone guitars to use them. (A similar yet different Mini Humbucker was used on some Gibson Firebirds and Gibson arch top models in the 60s (a "floating" version on the arch tops) So they were then put into the early 70s Les Paul Deluxes, SGs, some obscure models like the ES-325 and others. By the mid 80s the Mini Humbuckers were gone but were to return later on CS guitars in the late 90s. The 1961-1974 Mini PAFs had patent number stickers (though they were still called "PAF Mini Humbuckers") and the 1975-1985 Gibson versions have the patent number stamped into the baseplate. While the Mini appears to be just a smaller version of the original PAF its internal structure differs greatly and can be easily destroyed if great care isn't taken when removing the cover.
