2001 Gien Christmas Dessert Plate, New

Gien is the most prestigious maker of earthenware 'Faience' in France . Because it is fired at lower temperatures than porcelain, its colors are notably rich and warm. If I didn’t know better I would swear that the stars in the center are twinkling and I should feel the heat from the candles!

The plate is marked Gien France and 2001 Seasons Greetings in 4 languages ( Joyeuses Fetes, Season's Greetings, Frohe Festtage , Felices Fiestas) . on the back. This gem measures 8 1/2 inches in circumference and is about ¾ inches tall. It is truly gorgeous and is difficult, if not impossible, to find anywhere else, especially new. It has its original label affixed and has never been used.

Shipping cost (includes insurance) is within the continental U.S. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii , or Canada , please contact me for shipping rates.
