Gilbert " Stanley " black mantle clock, 6 column, runs, circa 1913 is another one of my project clocks that I wanted to finish, but finally giving up. Will go to the highest bidder if close to reserve.This is a black mantle clock by Gilbert in all original, untouched condition, model is " Stanley ", and made around 1913.The six column case is pretty tight, and strong, the case does however need cleaning, the columns & ornaments need gilding. The ornaments are all original, good, and strong, I do noticed a hairline crack on the back side of the left side ornament, nothing serious. No cracks or repairs to the case, except that it is dirty, and miinor nicks from age. What you see is mud on one of its sides, which can be removed by a wet tissue. A nice, well preserved label at the bottom. You need some cleaner to restore shine to this clock. Once the ornaments are gilded this clock would definitely show up. The good part is that I got the movement fixed few weeks ago, and I paid for two new mainsprings, and two bushing This is 8-day T&S movement, signed by Gilbert . The year of manufacturing is stamped as1913, the movement is keeping perfect time.. Half hour strike on a bell, and hours strike on a gong. The dial is original, signed by Wm L. Gilbert , and has the wavy glass inside it. The pendulum looks original to the case, a replacement
