Up for auction from a Florida estate sale is an excellent condition Gillette President double edge safety razor. The date code on the underside is Y1 which indicates a manufacture date of the first quarter of 1953. The razor shows no wear at all that I can see. It certainly appears to have never been used or it was lightly used. The plating on both the handle and the body is intact and shows no damage or wear. From what I have been able to learn the handle is rhodium plated and the body is nickel plated.
