”The Girl With Green Hair” by E.E. "Doc" Smith (Manuscript)(Unique) Book Condition: Very Good - This is a manuscript hand bound by the author E.E. "Doc" Smith Authors: E.E. "Doc" Smith Edition: First edition Features: A Unique Item!!! – This is an original E.E. "Doc" Smith 172 page hand-written science fiction manuscript, “The Girl with the Green Hair.” Late in the 1950’s, Doc Smith began a series of unconnected novels which emphasized psionics, the science of human mental powers. The first novel in this group of books, which were obviously cut short due to the lack of enthusiasm among SF fans was “The Girl with the Green Hair” which Smith wrote, aiming to see it published in the pages of Astounding Science Fiction. Unfortunately, the 70,000 word novel was rejected by John W. Campbell, and Smith was forced to look for another market. After little luck, he finally sold the manuscript to Amazing Stories, where it appeared as a three-part serial from March-May 1959 with the title "The Galaxy Primes". However, Smith was very unhappy with the numerous editorial changes made in the novel and for years afterwards, complained that the book was no longer what he intended.
