Seed of Life; small micaceous clay pot with lid by Glenn Gomez of Taos and Pojoaque Pueblos. 4"H x 2 1/2"D Glenn Gomez is from Taos and Pojoaque Pueblos. He has been working with clay since 1988, when curiosity got the best of him. Glenn tells us, “One day my mother was working with some clay and I asked her how she made her clay bowls. She rolled up the lump of clay in her hands into a ball, broke it in half and said, ‘Take this clay and create something of your own. Have a style that is you.’ Since, I have taken her advice and followed the creative process of working with natural clays.” The first time Glenn applied for an art show, he was recruited to attend The Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He attended IAIA from 1988 to 1992 and received an Associates of Fine Arts degree. Awards & Presentations: Heard Museum Show read more
