Be sure to add me to your favorites list ! This antique art deco lady dancer figurine made in Germany is incised on the bottom with the Goebel crown mark, FX872 and DEP dating it from 1923. The hand-painted miniature ballerina figure is dressed in a blue leotard with yellow bows at her shoulders, a white tutu, light blue tights and green ballet shoes. She measures approximately 4 1/8" long (10.5cm) and has no chips or cracks. T is a rough area (four circles about the same size) on the back edge of her tutu that is most likely from the kiln when she was originally made. (see enlarged pics) The tiny porcelain figurine does show some paint loss---mostly to the gilt area on which she is standing and to her hair (a tiny wee drop in the front and more to the back of her head.) The gold paint and her hair I suppose could be easily touched up if you desired but I have never found her paint loss detracting and believe it only adds to her character and gives credence to the lovely lady's age of approx. eighty years. I am being very critical so t are no surprises for the winning bidder but this vintage art deco lady is really very stunning and would be an asset to any collection! I had her displayed for many many etc. years in a cabinet in my bedroom alongside my powder jars, perfume bottles and other deco vanity items but it's time to read more
