Goebel Hummel #186 "Hummel Orchestra" Trademark 2 An awesome Goebel Hummel Figurine! The base has the "Hummel" name incised on the rim, and one of the trademark stamps on the bottom. This lot is for:- Part of the "Hummel Orchestra", this is # 186, trademark #2, the "full bee." This statuette features a small boy, lost in his own world of somber tones. This little man is in great repaired condition. He was formerly separated from his head, and was reattached firmly. Hardly noticeable.Measures: 5" highBerta Hummel's nickname was the "Hummelchen" (little bumble-bee). In 1934 she entered the Franciscan Abbey as Sister M. Innocentia. Her drawings depict kids just as they run about their native Bavarian village streets. Her sketch art caught the eye of Franz Goebel, porcelain maker and head of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik, Germany. Goebel acquired rights to turn Hummel's drawing into figurines, producing the first line in 1935. These lovable street urchins never lose their youth and are as bright and vivid as on the very first day of issue.
