Look at this new area for you to check out! I was walking up to this old mine to grab some pieces of 'ore' that might have been lying around - tossed aside by miners of yesterday...and I discovered that its being opened back up to be worked again! Survey flags, Dozers, Trucks.. all in what used to be a quiet, overgrown mine lost in the woods of a narrow North Idaho gulch. -Crazy how gold prices surging up to 700$ brings all kinds of life back to a once dead gold mining area... Anywho. . . the mine seen above will have to remain nameless (although it does have a name) due to possible claim.. interference? ... hmmm ..... .. --In its heyday the mine was producing a large quantity of Silver/Zinc/Lead/Copper and Gold in lode deposits found all over the the area's banded quartz filled mountains. A small steam powered train would run ore from the mine's to Wallace to be smelted. Many ore cars and pieces of track can still be found all over the hills.. .which is great for nostalgia - - - but crummy if you like to metal detect! On to the auction! This auction is for 10lbs of concentrates gatd from the low spot against bedrock against the side of the hill nearest the creek in the 3rd or 4th picture. :-) A good sized dozer did lots of work for me allowing a nice ditch with maybe a foot or less of concentrates all on top of bedrock ready and
