For auction is a great vintage 50's-60's Genuine Archimede Seguso Murano art glass dresser jar with a bird perched atop. This figural jar is an opaque bright red color with profuse aventurine (gold flecks), and is encased in clear glass using the sommerso technique, with heavy vertical ribs. Quite an eyecatcher. The piece has two different original Seguso labels; the one one the lid is a bit faded from cleaning, but it reads ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO / MURANO / MADE IN ITALY . Both labels are reproduced on the last 2 photos. Size is pretty impresive: overall height is about 9-1/2 inches (24 cm), and diameter is about 7-1/2 inches (19 cm). Just a great example of the Mid-Century Modern Style, and a superb example of Seguso's earlier work Item is in excellent condition. No chips, no cracks, no repairs. Very light wear on underside. Item will weigh about 5 pounds packed, and will be shipped via USPS parcel post unless a different shipping method is preferred.
