This beautiful and elegant gold satin brocade is heavy designer weight fabric that came from the home of my husband's grandmother. I understand from my husband's family that the grandmother was quite a socialite in Louisiania and had a lovely home. The piece I have available to sell is a little over 7 yards long and it is hemmed at each end. From selvage to selvage is about 46 inches. From my own personal experience in sewing with this fabric, I can tell you it is washable, gentle cycle, and it steam presses very nicely. I have used the fabric to make several table runners for my home. This fabric would also make nice pillows or perhaps could be used for dollhouse furnishings. Please be aware that the fabric is old and has a few spots and stains. Also, along the selvages, there is some fraying and tears in a few places. However, when I worked with the fabric, it was quite easy to lay the pattern pieces so as to avoid problem areas. In the photos, I have shown the entire length of fabric -- I took pictures from one end of fabric to the other end. I welcome your questions -- Thanks for looking!
