This hardback book is titled " The Golden Staircase Poems and verses for Children ". It was published by T. C. & E. C. Jack in 1906 1st edition. Poems chosen by Louey Chisholm. 16 lovely full page colour plates by M. Dibdin Spooner with an Art Nouveau flavour. No dust wrapper - I suspect one was not issued as the decoration on the front cover is lovely. Nice selection of poems selected for children, but can be enjoyed by anybody! 361 pages. A lovely addition to a collection. The book is in a Good plus condition. Slight slope to spine, rubs and light bumps at corners with very small wear at bottom front corner, rubbing and softness at spine ends with some small splits to cloth at each end, 2.5cm split to cloth at top front edge of spine, very small piece of loss to surface cloth at bottom of rear spine edge, fading to colour of cloth of spine and also down front of spine, 2.5cm strip of fading down rear of spine, a few light scratches to rear cover, a little fading along bottom rear edge and less so along top rear edge, light edge rubs, a little roughness and uneveness to front page edges, roughness to bottom page edges, browning to front and bottom page edges, neat name at top of fep, 6cm darkened strips at front edges of endpapers and pastedowns, pencil address on reverse of fep, some light brown speckling to prelims, tiny pin-hole read more
