This is a turned wood marble stand made by Chris Andrew at Gone Coastal Woodturning and Glass Studio in Corvallis, Oregon Note: The marble shown in one of the photos is NOT included. The stand is hand turned from Stratabond. Stratabond is a beautiful wood product made from colorful birch veneers that are laminated under high pressure. It is commonly used for guitar necks and rifle stocks. The color pattern used is called "royal jacaranda." The stand is approximately 1 5/8" wide at the base and 1 3/8" tall. The cup to hold the marble is approximately 1 1/2" wide at the top. This shape will work well with a 1" marble but is also large enough to securely hold a marble in the 1 1/2" to 3" range . The wood has been bluffed to a soft gloss finish and is signed and numbered on the bottom. I have included a photo showing the stand with a 2 1/4" diameter marble so you can see how well this scales to larger marbles. The marble shown is NOT included in this auction.
