An extremely rare piece of history. An original early 20th century Gordon Highlanders dress tunic/uniform jacket. From the info i have it would date around 1908 to 1916. Reasoning behind this dating is that from its insignia it belongs to the Gordon Highlanders Territorial Force formed in 1908(in 1921 became the Territorial army) and the soldiers number(etched into the leather collar strap), this is a 4 digit number and after 1916 this became an 8 digit number. The T4 on the shoulders indicates the 4th Bn. T.F.(city of Aberdeen). After some research i believe this info to be correct , if anyone has more info would appreciate it and be happy to update. All buttons and insignia are present, original and unrestored. I have had it for 25 odd years, wardrobe stored, and needs must so its now time for it to go to someone who would appreciate it more. It is unrestored and could do with a specialist clean but would rather leave this choice to the buyer - to keep its original patina or not. It is in excellent condition for being 100yrs old, a small stain to one arm and another on the other, as shown in last pics below. Happy to answer any questions if i can or supply further photos if req'd before end of auction. International bidders please contact me for pricing for postage before bidding. It will only be sent by insured international read more
